victory rose

like tuning before a symphony
is the sweet smell of fall.

time changes many things;
yet its scent remains.

how often do i long and wait
to enjoy such subtle aroma!

its advent proclaims the cold-
a harbinger of tribulation.

yet, for some, its soft embrace
is just a brief sigh before
the respite of the pearl sea.

Tim.

SO. GOOD. Seriously. Your poetry is amazing! Why have you not shown this to the world before?

The last stanza, in particular, is just...incredible! I am in awe, Tim. Awe.

So...more poems, then? Yes.

Yes. Very good.
It makes me very excited for winter. I'm not the best person to critique poetry, because I don't think I really get the meaning half the time. But...I dooo really like this one, so...I guess that counts for something!

I'm not going to pretend to know a lot about poetry...because I don't. But I love this, and I think that when people who know little about poetry truly enjoy your poem, THAT is when it is really good.

I didn't really know you were interested in poetry, but it does make sense. I liked this one as well, though, like the others, I haven't really studied poetry either. It does interest me though (as do a lot of other things that I never do anything with). I especially liked the image that I got from the first couplet. And I am really excited for winter. And for some reason thinking about winter makes me think of Harry Potter and how great it is. I think I'll go read it.
